Review

Blasphemy returns to Portland and buries Satyricon in its wake. On Halloween night Blasphemy, all the way from Norway literally burns the club to the ground. Following in the tradtion of earlier Norwegian black metal bands such as Burzum, Dark throne,Emperor etc. Blasphemy sets to make a name for it self by bringing more performance and pyrotechnics to the show than ther predecessors.

Blasphemy create a writhing, bottomless abyss of agonizing sounds., the guitars were unrecognizable, swirling and clasuterphobic and crushing, the vocals were shreeking and seeped in inner personal turmoil. The volume was so loud there was plaster falling from the ceiling. The show was cut short when the lead singer was lit on fire by a band mate and the fire soon spread across the stage and shortly after I found myself outside watching the club burn to the ground.... best show I’ve seen in years.
